A Song from the Hills (I)

Some day
You may hold the packaged hills in your palm:
Open the box if you care…
For the icy winds that touch
the sprinkled houses
On the slopes,
The dark tall trees
that probe into the depths of the earth,
The flowers awash in colours
deeper than the clouds,
The monkeys who stare with sad, inquisitive eyes,
The silence,
land-locked,
nestling in the valleys,
and long winding roads
that  seem to lose themselves
as if in the labyrinths of the mind…
interspersed with what you never asked for…

All this lies nascent in it:
Unfold it –
if you will;
or let it live buried forever
in the spiralling, endless roads
over here…
